We’ll be out in force at the Seattle Boat show this week, starting Thursday through Saturday. We’ll be stopping by to see everyone we can fit in, but fire off an email or phone call before Wednesday if you’d like us to specifically stop by for a chat. Team RBS in Europe!

RBS will be attending the Hamburg International Boat Show from Thursday November 1st through Sunday the 4th, in Hamburg Germany. Come by the Lindemann KG booth and say hi to Romeo and Scott.

We’re also attending the Marine Equipment Trade Show in Amsterdam from Tuesday November 13th through Thursday the 15th. We will be in our normal booth in hall 1 (#1.520).

We will be unleashing our new powdercoated backstay flickers on Europe as well as showing our newly formulated roller batten line up, so come by if you have the chance and happen to be attending either of these shows.

New Powdercoated Epoxy Backstay Flickers!

Introducing, the first powdercoated, epoxy backstay flicker. Using a unique, proprietary powdercoating technique, we’re able to utilize the strength and durability of our epoxy/e-glass material all while adding UV and environmental resistance. A powdercoated backstay flicker will have three times the life span of a non-powdercoated piece. Available in different widths and thicknesses at specified lengths for all boats. The Volvo Ocean Race is one of the toughest tests on any component in the sailing world. We at RBS see it as the prime testing ground for our battens. If they can survive the grueling tests put forth in the Volvo Ocean Race, we feel they can survive anything we can throw at them and thank the teams who’ve chosen to use RBS Battens.

Anarchy at Chicago Strictly Sail.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to stop by the booth in Chicago and thank you to global warming which saw temperatures reach north of 40 degrees making for a balmy mid winter stop in the Midwest. We were visited by Mr Clean in Chicago, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to put Tyson in front of the camera (see vid above) to ramble about the new rollers and powdercoated flicker battens. Thanks again Chicago!

RBS at Chicago Strictly Sail this week!

Hello to all our midwestern friends. We’d love to see anyone and everyone who will be making a stop by the Strictly Sail show in Chicago at Navy Pier this week. It’s that time of year again! RBS will be showing at the Marine Equipment Trade Show at the Amsterdam RAI again this year Tuesday November 15th through Thursday November 17th in our normal booth #1.520! Video of the week 9/30/11

This week’s video comes to us from local gorge sailor Chris Lloyd aboard his Rocket 22, Subatomic. Chris is running RBS Carbon battens in his Quantum main, and RBS E-glass Vertical battens in his furling Quantum Jib. Right at the beginning of the video, Subatomic comes into contact with some fishing nets, and is able to steer clear of the nets using quick maneuvering and good crew work. Great job on the edit, and thank you for the video!
